APBioNet Workshop

@GridAsia Singapore 1.30pm to 6pm, 16 May 2006

Venue: Singapore Management University
Organiser: GridAsia Organising Committee and APBioNet Secretariat
Registration: [Register FREE with GridAsia2006]

Welcome to the First Preparatory Workshop of the Asia Pacific Bioinformatics Network (APBioNet). APBioNet is organising this preparatory workshop to discuss the formation of APBioNet Nodes in the region and to explain to prospective candidates the various aspects of being a National or Institutional Node.

Participation of this meeting is ideal for prospective bioinformatics nodes in the Asia Pacific region which are interested to seek affiliation and appointment by APBioNet as an official APBioNet National or Institutional Node.

Bioinformatics resource providers and institutional network managers in ASEAN countries who are participating in the ASEAN Science and Technology Research Network Alliance [ASTRENA] will also find this workshop useful.

By being held within the GridAsia2006 festival of meetings from 14 - 19 May 2006 in Singapore (SMU Conference Hall), participants will enjoy the opportunity of attending FREE of CHARGE, the Singapore National Grid Distinguished Speaker Series, the GridAsia2006 keynote talks featuring Dr Manuel Peitsch of Norvatis and Dr Phil Papadoupolos of SDSC, the Singapore Life Science Virtual Grid Committee (LSVGC) Symposium, etc. Other meetings such as the Sun HPC consortium meeting and CCGrid06 are also accessible for the appropriate registration fee. See http://www.ngp.org.sg for more details and to register.

In addition, the hands-on Bioinformatics Course proposed has been cancelled. See SstarHandson for more details.
